Video Editing Glossary

Resolution

The pixel dimensions of an image, such as 1080p or 4K.

Resolution is the number of pixels in the frame — 1080p (Full HD), 4K (Ultra HD), and beyond. Higher resolution captures more detail and gives room to reframe or crop in the edit. Many editors shoot in 4K and deliver in 1080p precisely for that flexibility.
