Timecode

A precise time reference (HH:MM:SS:FF) used to identify and sync frames.

Timecode labels every frame with hours, minutes, seconds and frame number. It lets editors reference exact moments and, importantly, sync multiple cameras and audio recorders that share the same timecode. When footage lacks timecode, editors sync by audio waveform instead.
