Motion Tracking

Motion tracking analyzes a clip frame by frame to follow how a chosen point, region, or the whole shot moves, producing keyframe data that other elements can inherit. With that data you can pin a graphic to a moving object, stabilize shaky footage, blur or replace a license plate that drifts across frame, or insert a sign that sticks to a wall as the camera pans. Simple point tracks follow a single feature; planar and 3D camera tracks solve more complex motion and perspective. Editors and compositors use tracking to marry graphics and VFX to live action so they feel physically present rather than pasted on. Good tracks need high-contrast features to follow and often manual cleanup where the tracker slips, but a solid solve is what sells a composite.
