Marker

A marker is a small tag pinned to a precise frame, either on an individual clip or on the timeline ruler. It can be a plain point, a colored category, a duration span, or a note carrying text. Markers do not affect the picture; they are organizational anchors. Editors drop markers to flag music beats to cut on, mark a client's revision note, label sections of a sequence, set chapter points, or signal where a graphic should land. Many NLEs let you jump between markers with a keystroke, list them in a panel, and export them as comments or chapter data. In review workflows, markers become a shared to-do list, turning vague feedback into exact frame-level instructions the editor can step through one by one.
