ACES

ACES (Academy Color Encoding System) is an industry-standard color management framework that converts footage from any camera into a single huge working space, then transforms it back out for whatever you deliver. The point is consistency: an Input Transform (IDT) brings each camera's log into ACES, you grade in that scene-referred space, and an Output Transform (ODT) renders the result correctly for Rec. 709, P3, or HDR. For a colorist juggling mixed cameras on one project, ACES keeps skin tones and color relationships predictable instead of fighting each manufacturer's quirks. It also future-proofs a master, since you can output new formats later from the same grade. The tradeoff is a stricter, more technical setup that demands correct transforms at every stage.
